In this section, for your convenience,  we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and answers. If you do not find answers to your specific questions, please contact us by telephone or email (you can see our contact information or submit your question by email in the Contact Us section).

Q.1 What medical services do you provide?

A: Maxwell has a qualified nurse available to all residents 7 days a week  and  regular  doctor visits once a week. Additionally, our brand new state-of-the-art Assisted Living facility will provide the personal care services needed for the comfort and peace of mind of our residents and loved ones.

Q.2 Is there a government subsidy available?

A: Persons 70 years or older may claim a tax credit equal to 34% of eligible expenses.  Our staff will be pleased to inform you about this program and will assist you in the administration of the appropriate documents.

Q.3 What type of activities do you provide?

A: We provide an array of organized activities such as daily exercise programs, aqua fit, outings to restaurants, grocery store and various malls, theatre, scenic drives, bridge, board games, bingo, choral/musical groups,  guest speakers, and much much more.

Q.4 Are the meals varied and can you accommodate special diets?

A: Maxwell prides itself on its fine dining cuisine. Three nutritious meals await you daily. Menus are planned and are rotated on a four week rotation schedule. Unlike traditional residences, we can offer you an a la carte menu as well and there’s no need to place your order 24 hours in advance. The self-serve refreshment area offers a variety of beverages and baked goods for you and guests to enjoy. Some special diets will also be accommodated. If you have a favourite recipe, we’ll be glad to incorporate it in our menu.

Q.5 I find myself relying more on friends and family for transportation. Does your residence offer transport services?

A: Yes we do! Transportation is offered for scheduled outings and shopping as organized by our Activity Manager.

Q.6 Stairs are becoming an issue, do you have elevators?

A: Three elevators await you to take you up and down our 3-storey facility.

Q.7 May I invite family and friends to join me for a meal, activity, or stay overnight?

A: Your guests are always welcome to visit you anytime. This is your home. You and your guests are welcome to dine in our elegant atrium dining room, make use the various amenities and participate in the numerous events Maxwell has to offer. Overnight stays are also welcome!

Q.8  I like to entertain my family and friends occasionally. Is there a  special room I can entertain them?

A: The Clubroom/Party room offers you the privacy for those special occassions; such as family get-togethers to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, bridge club parties, Christmas, etc. The room is fully equipped with a kitchenette so you can choose to make your own meal(s) or refreshments or you may have our qualified chef cater your party.

Q.9. What type of individuals live/work at your residence?

A:Maxwell is made up of a mellee of active and interesting residents who share your values and interests. The dedicated and qualified staff is caring, friendly and eager to work with you in meeting your needs. Friendships are sure to develop!

Q.10 Will I ever have to move again?

A: We understand that moving is stressful. However, should your level of lifestyle change due to illness, whether you reside in the Autonomous or Assisted Living , our Director of Care and physician will be better equipped to assess your situation and determine what is the best living arrangement for you.
